Ohio Academy of Sciences Environmental Science Scholarship program
- Applications for this $2,500 scholarship are due June 1st each year. Rising seniors are eligible.
NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program
- For students from disadvantaged backgrounds committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. Includes $20,000 per year in scholarship funds, summer research opportunity at the NIH, and post-graduate employment. Application deadline in late February.
Research and Travel Funding
There are a number of funding sources to support student research:
Ashland University Provost Engagement Grant ($500) - requires a faculty sponsor
The Beta Beta Beta Research Awards - applications due in September each year
Council on Undergraduate Research Student Travel Awards - Deadline Feb 15th
Society of Toxicology undergraduate student grants
Sigma Xi Grants-In-Aid of Research Program - applications due in March and October of each year
ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship
- The ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship (URF) is aimed at highly competitive students who wish to pursue graduate careers (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in microbiology. Students will have the opportunity to conduct full time research at their home institutions with an ASM member and present research results at ASM Microbe the following year. The award provides up to $5000 in funding. Application deadline February 15.
